Definition of Structuralism “A method
of interpretation and analysis of aspects of human behavior, culture and
experience which focuses on relationships of contrast between elements in
conceptual system.
Structuralist critics like: -
Ferdinand Saussure, Gerald Genette, Roland Barthes, Claude Levi- Strauss etc…..
gave their valuable contribution in this approach.
Lets example every literary text has a beginning middle and end. And
same goes with the movie, serial also
Movie like – OMG, P.K has a same structure-
anti religion or challenges this idea.
If we take structure approach then OMG
is better than P.K structure of both is same.
For example T.V Serial like CID, Crime
Petrol, and Savdhan India helps us to understand narratology.
